Creating a custom label for a business is a simple way to be able to quickly and efficiently print labels for envelopes, packaging or even for products. Adhesive labels can also be used to identify materials and items in storage, and it all starts with developing a custom blank label template.

A template allows you to create just the look needed for the particular label and then save the format. This makes it easy to access the template later as needed or to print additional labels, to alter the format or to even use the text and images in the template to create a different size of label.

Starting the Project

To get started creating unique blank label template for your mailing, choose the correct vendor name from the label options under the mailings tab at the top of the Word document. Click on labels in the create section of the header; it should be located on the far-left side of the page.

Once on the labels tab, you will see the text you have entered on the Word doc in the label box. On the bottom of the box, you will also find the button for options, which will allow selection of the various label vendors from the drop-down box as well as the specific size of the labels.

There is also the option to choose to print on a single blank label or to create an entire page. For those using continuous feed printers, it will be important to click on the appropriate button at the top of the box.

Finally, verify everything is correct and then select the print option. It will also be important to ensure the label sheets or rolls are loaded correctly into the printer before starting the print project.
